Back at College

So I'm back at Keene now. I came back to find out PLENTY MORE VANDALISM HAS BEEN GOING ON. Not only has someone pooped in our recycling room twice; but someone also drew multiple swastikas on the walls, wrote slurs all over everyone's white boards, threw zucchini off of the staircase...it's getting fucking ridiculous. We had a floor meeting about it today. But honestly, I doubt any/most of that was even our floor and we're all getting blamed for it. Why would you vandalize your own hall, even floor? College kids (other than me- I'm an angel :D ) are fucking stupid. Seriously, how hard is it to poop in a toilet and not throw autumn squashes down to the next floor?

But anyway, I kinda missed living in my dorm. I enjoy having my own room away from home. I feel like it's a step away from having my own apartment, which so far has been a blast. And I'm still responsible enough to not do anything stupid. But I already knew that considering I essentially had my own private area at home anyway. Cuz seriously, when did me and Dad ever talk? Never.

But I feel like home life really prepared me for college life. I already weened myself off of my parents. Plus I got all my drinking out of the way- I do NOT want to party at all. Which is the downfall of most college student. I never want to go to a party, let alone drink here. Getting drunk around people I don't know in a place I don't know? Noooo thank you.

So while at Anna's I bought her SNES off of her. She hasn't said how much she wants for it, but it's in my room here right now. She didn't have the plug that goes into the TV, but ever Nintendo console up until the Wii all had the same cords, so I can easily just switch between my Gamecube wires and the SNES wires. But I'm gunna hit up the Retro Game store in Keene (if it's open, every time we've gone it was closed, so it might be closed for good D: ) to see if they sell them there. Either way, I really need to swing by my house and pick up all my gaming shit. And my posters, my room here is barren. And Scyther (Anna's name for Spencer. It super stuck) already knows I like Pokemon, so I don't really give a fuck- I'm bringing my posters from home. But only a few, I don't want them damaged.

Ugh, I am not looking forward to classes tomorrow. I fucking hate my "Human Cultural Mosaic" class. It's just some stupid Geography class, and I fucking hate Geography. Also, I just bombed a quiz in that class (because I didn't even know we had one that day), so I'll have to come in with my head hung in shame. So I'll have to study extra hard for the next one. I have less homework than I thought I did, which is good. I have to study for a quick in Mosaic on Wednesday, do a French activity paper, read some of an old book for Ancient and Medieval World, and read a chapter or two for Language. The only things that are actually due this week are studying for that test which is Wednesday, the French papers which are due Tuesday, and the reading for Language which is due Thursday.

I'm liking Language more and more though- the topic is becoming more and more interesting and I can the teacher likes me because I can read katakana and he speaks Japanese. I told him that I could read it, then proved that I could and he had a look that was all "omg new favoriteeee~" Ancient and Medieval World is soooo booooring. Seriously, the teacher is, like, 90 years old and mutters everything. And the topic isn't even interesting. Aaaand French is pretty Frenchy. I need to practice my vocab and I'll do fine. I can tell that I'm DEFINITELY not the worst in the class because of the way everyone else talked in French. Their accents were awful and their sentences didn't flow well. For example, when saying "Je m'appelle..." they literally said "Je ma appelle", whereas I said it the way Mme T taught us to with it sounding more like "Jshmappelle", all said quickly. I also already knew not to actually say the "ne" when saying things like "Je ne sais pas". Everyone else was like "wtf?!" Mme T was a great French teacher, I'll miss her. But my vocab is still lacking, so I'll just have to do some extra work, I guess.

Anyway, off of the topic of school- I found out that I can make my own ringtones for my phone and use them. I have the Final Fantasy IX Victory Fanfare as my text ringtone, and the Final Fantasy X Victory Fanfare as my picture message ringtone. It just feels really cool to ACTUALLY catch up, technology-wise. I'll NEVER want a touch phone, however, so I can still remain one pleasant step behind. I enjoy retro things- I'm JUST NOW getting a phone with a QWERTY keyboard. Though I'll miss phones that close. However, my phone auto locks really quickly and it takes effort to unlock it, so I'm never afraid of the infamous butt-dial. I can also check Facebook from my phone too. Though I'm worried I'll blow through minutes too quickly now that I'm all about new shit. I'll probably transition to an actual phone after I get a job, but if I can't find a "real" phone that isn't a touch phone, I'll probably just go to the pay every month phones that Baku and Mariku have. I haaaate touch phones so muuuuuch. And I hate how mainstream they've gotten too. Now EVERYONE has one. They suck and no one wants to admit it. "But Akki, I like my touch phone!" That sucks, this is my blog- your opinion in invalid.

You know, as slightly rip-offy as it is, I'm glad Baku and Mariku have Netflix. At least, the Instant Streaming. Albeit most of the things available are stupid, but it's great to watch when nothing is on TV. I honestly think I won't have cable TV when I get my own place. I can't say I'll have Netflix, but I'd rather not get everything illegally either. I like being an honest person. I might just buy DVDs, owning those is fun- I like collecting things.

Anyway, I'm outta shit to talk about. Later
~ <3
